Getting there together
Getting there together, an international project
During this project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme, in collaboration with organizational development experts and other organizers of living libraries, we are developing an effective methodology for corporate living libraries. This methodology emphasizes organizational development and sensitivity. As a part of this, employees open to the idea would have the chance to explore the role of a “living book” through proper training, introducing an innovative element. The project also involves building a network with companies, assessing their needs, engaging new volunteers and conducting impact assessments.
The Living Library method has been proven to measurably reduce prejudice, and our experiences indicate that strong group cohesion and effective collaboration develop among the volunteers who act as “living books.” This is because the method provides an opportunity to share factual knowledge about minority identities and personal stories. As a result, participants approach each other with better preparation and more empathy, fostering effective communication and conflict resolution in diverse environments.
The project’s output would be a handbook detailing the methodology of corporate living libraries.
