‘Gay refugee (English)’

This human book came to the Netherlands about a year ago.

He is originally from Egypt, where he cannot be himself, as he is gay. Homosexuality is not accepted there, with even jail sentences if they find out. It was not safe. Now he is going through the refugee process in the Netherlands. He now has to 'prove' that he is really gay. Luckily he has made big steps regarding his mental health. Coming from a Christian background, at first he was trying to 'preach the gay away'. That did not work... The problem is that this kind of thinking can also lead to self hate, while it is so important to accept and love yourself. Feel free to ask any question to this open book.
